Biography
Daniel Gries is credited as a Foley artist in two films. In Curiosa (2019), Gries worked in the Foley department, contributing to the film’s sound design by creating and recording everyday sound effects in sync with the visuals. The role involves crafting subtle, realistic sounds—such as footsteps, fabric rustles, or object handling—to enhance the auditory realism of a scene without drawing attention to the process itself.
In Wild Diamond (2024), Gries again served as a Foley artist, applying the same techniques to support the film’s immersive sound environment. Foley artists operate in post-production, layering live-recorded sounds over dialogue and score to give scenes a tangible, lifelike quality.
