Tomblin served as First Assistant Director on multiple well-known titles, including The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Out of Africa, The Man in the Iron Mask, and The Three Musketeers. They also held the title of Assistant Director on Barry Lyndon and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and worked as Second Unit Director on Superman II. Tomblin died on July 20, 2005.
