Gheorghe Zamfir, known professionally as Zamfir, was born on April 6, 1941, in Găești, Bâmbovița, Romania. He is renowned for his work as a musician, particularly for his skill in playing the pan flute. Zamfir's contributions to cinema can be seen in several notable films. In 1975, he lent his musical talents to the atmospheric mystery "Picnic at Hanging Rock." He further showcased his abilities in the 1984 releases "Once Upon a Time in America" and "The Karate Kid," both of which featured his pan flute performances.
