Gilbert Taylor, born on April 12, 1914, in Bushey Heath, Hertfordshire, England, was a British cinematographer known for his work in several notable films. He is particularly recognized for his role as the Director of Photography in "Dr. Strangelove" and "The Omen," both released in the 1960s. Taylor's most iconic work, however, is his contribution to the groundbreaking science fiction film "Star Wars" (1977), where he served as the Director of Photography. He passed away on August 23, 2013.
