Hideo Shibuya was born on February 20, 1928 in Tokyo, Japan. Shibuya worked as an actor in several Japanese science fiction and adventure films during the 1950s and early 1960s. In 1954, Shibuya appeared in Seven Samurai as a Bandit, contributing to the film’s ensemble cast of antagonists. The following year, Shibuya appeared in The Mysterians, a science fiction feature that expanded his presence in the genre. He also worked behind the camera, serving as a Cameraman in Varan in 1958.
Shibuya’s roles often placed him in action-driven or genre films of the era. In Atragon from 1963, he appeared in a supporting capacity, part of the film’s ensemble.
