Hitomi Tateno is a visual effects artist whose work has contributed to notable animated films. Born on December 13, 1960, Tateno is also known by the name 舘野 仁美. In 1988, Tateno served as the animation manager for the film My Neighbor Totoro, overseeing key aspects of the production process. This role required coordinating teams and ensuring the consistency of animated sequences.
Tateno’s expertise extended to visual effects work in 1997, when Tateno was part of the team behind Princess Mononoke. The film’s complex visuals and layered animation required precise technical and artistic coordination, areas where Tateno’s contributions were applied.
