Born on August 12, 1935 in Clifton, Illinois, Hobson worked in a profession where recognition often comes through singular roles rather than sustained prominence. Hobson’s first credited film role arrived in Barton Fink, a 1991 production directed by the Coen Brothers, where Hobson appeared as Derek, a minor but memorable character in the narrative.
Two years later, Hobson returned to the screen in Amos & Andrew, a 1993 comedy-drama, portraying Waldo Lake. The film marked Hobson’s final known on-screen credit.
