J. Pat O'Malley was born on March 15, 1904 in Burnley, Lancashire, England, UK. Working under that stage name, O'Malley contributed voice work to animated features in the 1950s and 1960s. In Alice in Wonderland, O'Malley voiced multiple characters including the Walrus, Carpenter, Dee, and Dum. The film’s 1951 release marked one of several occasions when O'Malley provided vocal performances for major studio productions.
O'Malley also appeared in live-action projects during the same period. In Witness for the Prosecution, O'Malley took an uncredited role as the Shorts Salesman. Later, in One Hundred and One Dalmatians, O'Malley voiced Colonel and Jasper, adding to the film’s ensemble cast of vocal performers.
