Joel Torre is a Filipino actor born on June 19, 1961 in Bacolod, Negros Occidental, Philippines. Torre entered the film industry in the 1980s and became known for roles in period and historical dramas. Early in the decade, Torre appeared in the horror anthology Shake, Rattle & Roll (1984) in the segment titled "Baso," playing the character Johnny or Juanito. That same year, Torre had a supporting part in Bagets 2, credited as Special Sabet.
Torre’s career continued with appearances in films such as Batang West Side (2001), where he played Juan Mijares, and Century of Birthing (2011) as Amang Tiburcio.
