K. B. Sundarambal

K. B. Sundarambal, born on October 11, 1908, in Kodumudi, Erode District, Tamil Nadu, was a prominent figure in the Indian film industry. She was known for her role in the 1967 film 'Kandhan Karunai' as Avvaiyar. Sundarambal was not just an actor, but also a stage artist and singer, earning the title "Queen of the Indian stage." Her contributions extended beyond cinema, as she was a political activist during the Indian independence movement. Notably, she became the first film personality to enter a state legislature in India.
