Ottola Nesmith appeared in two American films during the early 1950s, both credited roles in crime dramas. In 1953 Nesmith played Cathy in I, the Jury, a film based on a Mickey Spillane novel. The role involved a supporting appearance in the narrative surrounding a private investigator’s pursuit of a murderer. Nesmith’s performance contributed to the film’s atmosphere as a hard-boiled detective story.
In 1957 Nesmith appeared as Miss Johnson, an uncredited role, in Witness for the Prosecution. The film, directed by Billy Wilder, centered on a courtroom drama involving a man accused of murder.
