Biography
Peyo was a Belgian comics writer and artist born on June 25, 1928 in Brussels, Belgium. Working under the pseudonym Peyo, they created the comic book series The Smurfs, which later expanded into film-related adaptations. Their work on The Smurfs contributed to characters and comic book adaptations featured in multiple film projects.
Peyo’s involvement in cinema-related projects includes providing characters for The Smurfs [2011] and The Smurfs 2 [2013], as well as contributing comic book adaptations for Smurfs: The Lost Village [2017]. Their work was also included in the upcoming The Smurfs [2025], where they provided characters. Through these contributions, Peyo’s creations became part of the film industry’s animated and comic-based adaptations.
