Phil Heywood is an Australian sound professional known for work in Foley and re-recording mixing. Born on November 20, 1954, in Sydney, New South Wales, Heywood has contributed to major film productions in these roles. In 2001, Heywood served as a Foley artist on The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. He returned to the franchise in 2003 as a Foley artist on The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.
Heywood’s later work shifted to sound re-recording mixing, beginning with The Great Gatsby in 2013. He held the same position on The Lego Movie in 2014 and Outlaws in 2018. Across these projects, Heywood worked within the sound department, focusing on post-production audio tasks that shape the final soundtrack.
