Born on November 16, 1988 in Trivandrum, Kerala, India, Raftaar began as a dancer before establishing a presence in rap music through early collaborations in the late 2000s. The stage name was adopted during this period as Raftaar expanded from dance to recording original tracks, later joining Yo Yo Honey Singh’s group Mafia Mundeer.
Raftaar’s film work includes composing original music for the 2018 title Andhadhun and contributing as a playback singer to the 2017 film A Gentleman and the 2013 title Bullett Raja. These credits reflect Raftaar’s involvement across multiple musical roles within the soundtracks of these films.
