Biography
Richard Ryen was an actor born on September 11, 1885 in Főherczeglak, Hungary, now part of Croatia. Known professionally under multiple names including Richard Révy and Richard Anton Robert Felix Revy, Ryen worked in film during the mid-20th century. His most recognized appearance was in the 1943 film Casablanca, where Ryen played the uncredited role of Col. Heinz, the aide to Strasser. The part was brief but contributed to the film’s wartime atmosphere.
Ryen’s career spanned a period when actors often took smaller, uncredited roles to support larger productions. His work in Casablanca remains his only verified credit in available records. Little else is documented about his life or other professional work beyond this single film appearance. He died on December 22, 1965.
