He is best known for his work on two highly acclaimed animated films, "Princess Mononoke" and "Spirited Away". Ujiie served as the Executive Producer for "Princess Mononoke", released in 1997, and as Co-Executive Producer for "Spirited Away", which was released in 2001. Both films, directed by the renowned Hayao Miyazaki, are considered masterpieces of Japanese animation. Ujiie's contributions to these films were significant, and his role in their production helped bring these captivating stories to global audiences. He passed away on March 28, 2011.
