Biography
Simone Bär, a German casting director, was born on January 5, 1965, in Königs Wusterhausen, Germany. She began her career in the film industry, working on the casting for various notable productions. Bär's first credited work was for the German film 'Summer Storm' in 2004. She continued to contribute to the industry, working on the casting for 'Barbara' in 2012 and 'Transit' in 2018, both German films. Bär's international recognition came with her work on Quentin Tarantino's 'Inglourious Basterds' in 2009, where she served as the casting director. She also worked on the location casting for 'TÁR' in 2022, directed by Todd Field. Bär's final credited work was for the upcoming film 'September 5', scheduled for release in 2024. She passed away on January 16, 2023.
