Sō Yamanaka is a Japanese actor born on January 30, 1972 in Ibaraki, Japan. Known primarily for roles in film, Yamanaka has appeared in works across genres, often as supporting characters. In 2003, Yamanaka took on the role of Crazy 88 #5 in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: Vol. 1, a violent revenge epic that became a global cult hit. The character is part of the elite group of sword-wielding enforcers known as the Crazy 88, and Yamanaka’s portrayal contributed to the film’s stylized action sequences.
Yamanaka reprised the same role in the 2011 compilation Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, a re-edited version of the original films with additional scenes.
