Tap Canutt worked in the film industry as a stunt performer. Their credited roles in stunt coordination and performance appear in several productions across the 1960s and 1970s. In 1960, Canutt contributed to the stunts for Spartacus. They later worked on The Wild Bunch in 1969, also handling stunt duties. That same year, Canutt provided stunt work for The Good Guys and the Bad Guys.

In 1970, Canutt’s stunt work continued with Rio Lobo. Two years later, they appeared on screen as Rustler in The Cowboys. Their final recorded stunt credit is from 1980, for The Mountain Men. Across these films, Canutt’s contributions were primarily in the stunt department, performing and coordinating action sequences.
