Toshio Kawaguchi is known for work in visual effects and key animation roles in Japanese animation. Born on July 15, 1959, Kawaguchi has contributed to several notable animated films across decades. In 1985, Kawaguchi served as key animation on Angel's Egg. The following year, in 1988, Kawaguchi held key animation roles on My Neighbor Totoro and Akira. In 1992, Kawaguchi worked as animation director on Porco Rosso. Kawaguchi later provided key animation for Princess Mononoke in 1997 and for Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade in 1999. In 2017, Kawaguchi returned to key animation on Mary and The Witch's Flower.
Kawaguchi is also credited under the name 河口 俊夫. The films listed reflect a career spanning key animation and visual effects contributions within the Japanese animation industry.
