He began his career on stage, eventually transitioning to film. Lugosi's most memorable role was that of Count Dracula in the 1931 film of the same name, a performance that solidified his status as a horror film icon. He reprised the role in several stage productions throughout his career. Apart from his vampire persona, Lugosi appeared in various other films, including "White Zombie" (1932) as Legendre, and "The Gorilla" (1939) as Peters. His first film role was in "Spring Tempest" (1918), where he played Renner. Lugosi continued acting until his death on August 16, 1956.
