Frankie Sakai, born Masatoshi Sakai, was a Japanese actor known for his roles in various films. Born on February 13, 1929, in Kagoshima, Japan, Sakai began his acting career in the 1960s. He gained recognition for his performances in comedy films, often playing supporting roles. Some of his notable works include "A Comedy in Front of the Station: Benten" and "A Comedy in Front of the Station: Manga" in 1966, where he played the character Jiro Sakai. He also appeared in "Hot Spring Ghost" in 1964. Sakai's versatility was evident in his role as Inspector Kawai in the 1979 film "Vengeance Is Mine," demonstrating his ability to handle serious and dramatic roles. His career spanned over two decades, with his final film credit being "Dynamite Don-Don" in 1978.
