Jayanto Chattopadhyay

Jayanto Chattopadhyay was born on July 28, 1946 in Khulna, Bangladesh. Chattopadhyay worked in the film industry, with a notable appearance in The Clay Bird (2002) as Kazi. The film, set in Bangladesh, explores themes of faith and family through the story of a young boy in a conservative Muslim household. Chattopadhyay’s portrayal contributed to the film’s atmospheric depiction of rural life and religious tension.

Beyond film, Chattopadhyay was recognized as a reciter and had a background in English literature from Calcutta University.
