Born on February 17, 1877 in San Francisco, California, Stevens appeared in films during the late silent and early sound eras. Known professionally as John Landers Stevens and J. Landers Stevens, the actor worked primarily in minor or uncredited roles, a common practice in the studio system of the time.
Stevens is credited with appearances in two films. In The Public Enemy, released in 1931, Stevens played a Doctor in an uncredited role. His final known screen appearance came posthumously in Citizen Kane, which was released in 1941, where Stevens portrayed a Senate Investigator, also uncredited.
