Kazuo Katō was born on January 1, 1928 in Tokyo, Japan. Katō worked in the film industry, contributing to several notable productions during his career. In 1963, Katō appeared in High and Low in the role of an Identification Center Worker, a small but credited part within the film’s ensemble cast. The film, directed by Akira Kurosawa, is recognized for its crime drama elements and social commentary.
In 1970, Katō took on the role of a Painter in Dodes'ka-den, another Kurosawa film. The movie, set in a Tokyo slum, explores the lives of its residents through a blend of drama and realism. Katō’s appearance in the film is a brief but distinct contribution to its visual and narrative texture.
